The first step to creative writing is to be able to choose words that can help your readers "see" what you are trying to tell them.
They say a picture can paint a thousand words. But when it comes to writing, words can paint a thousand pictures.
Eg: |
"No," she said
"No," she whispered
"No," she yelled
"No," she mumbled |
In these the verb said is replaced with different descriptive words. The way "No" is said each time changes the way the reader understands the meaning of the word "No". |
